Ivan Emanuel Wallin

Ivan Emanuel Wallin (1883 - 1969) was an American biologist of Swedish ancestry. His major contribution to evolutionary theory was his theory that mitochondria are bacteria. Although not in the strict sense, as mitochondria cannot be proliferated outside cells, hist theory proves correct in endosymbiogenesis theory.
