The Story of Your Enslavement is the title of an YouTube video.

On this page, I'm going to discuss the issues raised by this video, and I leave my comments here as it may serve as a template to discuss the fauceir perspective. As the video is roughly structured into 4 parts my comments will essentially follow this structure.

  • First, enslavement is discussed. Though slavery has a quite negative connotation (which the author intentionally [ab]uses), in a broader evolutionary context, enslavement is normal fauceir behavior. Moreover, enslavement is an essential part of every evolutionary process and human social evolution is no exception.
  • Second, the sweeping claims made by the video that human history tends to increase slavery is refuted and more specifically explicated which domains of human life show more enslavement and which ones gain more freedom and protection.
  • Third, irrationality, hypocrisy and downright lies employed by social enslavement strategies are exposed. Although all this is disturbingly correct, in this part, the author of the video becomes fallacious himself. The sheer fact that those detestable strategies are employed does not prove that enslavement by itself is wrong (at least in its broader fauceir sense).
  • Fourth, the outlook culminates in a sweet story of a paradise-like society. This conclusion is not only naïve but turns the whole story into an irrational ideology.

Enslavement is typical fauceir behavior

The fist part of the video graphically illustrates the enslavement of human individuals with progress in social evolution. In contrast to the video which abhors that tendency, in this section I aim to demonstrate that this is just normal. It's—in other words—the way human social evolution proceeds. Enslavement comes naturally and is a prerequisite of a human society's persistence and progress.

We have to make terminological specification before we start. Slavery as it happened in ancient Rome or in the South of the United States before Civil War is different from what the author of that video and fauceir theory understand by enslavement. To avoid that confusion and the negative connotation by that term in fauceir theory the term element fauceir was coined. An element fauceir is an enslaved fauceir.

Here my first quote from the video transcript:

"
This is the story of your enslavement; how it came to be, and you can finally be free. Like all animals, human beings want to dominate and exploit the resources around them.
"

Well, 'exploiting resources' is just an other term for fauceir enslavement as resources are fauceirs of course. Conclusively, fauceirs throughout the universe tend to enslave other fauceirs. Such an enslavement is the prerequisite of a fauceirs persistence. No enslavement—neither survival nor progress.

"
At first, we mostly hunted and fished and ate off the land - but then something magical and terrible happened to our minds.
"

Exactly, eating fish like agriculture in general is nothing but enslavement of biological fauceirs. As a matter of fact first humans used to enslave other humans biologically, too. Such cannibalism still exists in some primitive human societies. Nowadays, such a biological enslavement is considered ethically acceptable only if it involves animals and plants though there might exist some differences not only between vegetarians and non-vegetarians, but also among religions. Those religions also brought into humans minds ethical rules by which men are not mere biological beings, providing eatable food, but social companions essential for a better survival of the group. Later from those rules evolved the condemnation of homicide and even anthropocentrism.

"
We became, alone among the animals, afraid of death, and of future loss.
"

That's not true. If you observe a dog, for instance, you can easily demonstrate that it is instinctively afraid of elementary dangers, such as water, fire or a cliff, and that it fiercely defends its food against future loss. Also dogs can learn to avoid dangers from own experience. Apes, even, are capable to learn dangerous snakes from their parent's behavior.

What makes humans so special is that only humans are capable to learn abstract threads and complex concepts to avoid it.

"
And this was the start of a great tragedy, and an even greater possibility... You see, when we became afraid of death, of injury, and imprisonment, we became controllable -- and so valuable -- in a way that no other resource could ever be.
"

This is not entirely true. Among animals that show some rudimentary social behavior punishment is common, too. As a rule, every master fauceir has to control its slaves, the more effective the control the better off the master. Higher animals, those who are capable to alter its behavior evolved a complex system of social punishment. By contrast, animals whose social behavior is inborn, insects for instance, simply kill their deviators. Therefore social punishment is essential to a social compound no matter whether animals or humans.

The only difference between animals and humans in that respect is that human social behavior is controlled more abstractly and rationally, mostly. As correctly stated in this video, humans can be afraid of things that they imagine to happen in the future.

"
The greatest resource for any human being to control is not natural resources, or tools, or animals or land -- but other human beings.
"

Well, human beings are a natural resource too. In fact all fauceirs, once enslaved, can become a natural resource. The very specialty of humans is that they can produce more resources than any other animal and even create new types of resources.

"
You can frighten an animal, because animals are afraid of pain in the moment, but you cannot frighten an animal with a loss of liberty, or with torture or imprisonment in the future, because animals have very little sense of tomorrow. You cannot threaten a cow with torture, or a sheep with death. You cannot swing a sword at a tree and scream at it to produce more fruit, or hold a burning torch to a field and demand more wheat. You cannot get more eggs by threatening a hen - but you can get a man to give you his eggs by threatening him.
"

As I said before animals and plants are incapable of abstract thinking.

"
Human farming has been the most profitable -- and destructive -- occupation throughout history, and it is now reaching its destructive climax. Human society cannot be rationally understood until it is seen for what it is: a series of farms where human farmers own human livestock.
"

Well you can put it that way, and I admit in those rather primitive human societies it seemed to be that humans were owned their own kind, but that is not the whole story. More scientifically correct, we have to say that about 60,000 years ago human beings became controlled by the societies they lived in. And those ancient societies were represented by autocratic leaders, who, I wont deny that, treated their inferiors like property.

It is an entire different question why such a behavior evolved. In my opinion the reason for that was because own property is treated more responsible and therefore societies lead by leaders who felt responsible for their people were better off, showed better productivity and first of all were more brave and victorious in warfare.

Anyway, ancient political leaders as brutal as their leadership might have had been were nothing but privileged slaves of their societies. They might have had some freedom in their political decisions and they might have had committed abuses, but eventually they were bound to the rules of their society. That meant that if they made to many wrong decisions they were doomed to die with its whole society.

"
Some people get confused because governments provide health-care and water and education and roads, and thus imagine that there is some benevolence at work. Nothing could be further from reality. Farmers provide health-care and irrigation and training to their livestock. Some people get confused because we are allowed certain liberties, and thus imagine that our government protects our freedoms. But farmers plant their crops a certain distance apart to increase their yields -- and will allow certain animals larger stalls or fields if it means they will produce more meat and milk.
"

It is plain truth throughout our universe that master fauceirs that milk their slaves evolve instruments to protect, nourish and propagate them. This phenomenon in called symbiosis in biology. Humans are much faster and more inventive to create such dependencies.

"
In your country, your tax farm, your farmer grants you certain freedoms not because he cares about your liberties, but because he wants to increase his profits. Are you beginning to see the nature of the cage you were born into? There have been four major phases of human farming.
"

Human farming is accomplished by human societies. The whole society is the farmer and every member is some more or less important farmed human. How strictly aristoctatic leaders were governed by their society can be demonstrated by a famous Prussian king who called himselves the fist servant of his nation and imprisoned and even nearly killed his own son for the sake of his nations inner stability.

Human history, the evolution of human society, is characterized by the transition of the control of enslavement from a single person business to a buisiness of a ruling society, the government. The transition reflects a fauceir rule of evolution, decontextualization.

In the next chapter we will show that this evolutionary process not only increased humans' enslavement and dependency, but also increased human's freedom and opportunities to exploit creativity to contribute to social progress.

Human history reflects increasing freedom and responsibility

The first step of human enslavement was human cannibalism. Unfortunately, the short summary of the history of human enslavement provided by the video neglects this.

Conclusively the video's first phase is actually the second that in comparison with the previous phase constitutes an enormous evolutionary progress.

"
The first phase, in ancient Egypt, was direct and brutal human compulsion. Human bodies were controlled, but the creative productivity of the human mind remained outside the reach of the whip and the brand and the shackles. Slaves remained woefully underproductive, and required enormous resources to control.
"

The main problem with slaves is not their under-productivity or the resources required to control them. The main problem with slaves is that they are not allowed to develop creativity. Conclusively, though they dutifully accomplished all the chores to provide the resources for a society to persist, they did almost nothing to contribute to social progress.

"
The second phase was the Roman model, wherein slaves were granted some capacity for freedom, ingenuity and creativity, which raised their productivity. This increased the wealth of Rome, and thus the tax income of the Roman government - and with this additional wealth, Rome became an empire, destroying the economic freedoms that fed its power, and collapsed.
"

The Roman system was more effective as it created more progress per time. Romans were able to develop better weaponry and tactics to subdue other more backward societies.

"
I'm sure that this does not seem entirely unfamiliar.
"

The collapse of the Roman Empire was rather a matter of expiration. All fauceirs, have a limited life span, and so have empires. The aging Roman Empire neglected technological and scientific progress and so it became prey not only to endoparasites but also exoparasites. Neighboring societies eager to copy the technological advantage but lacking the stiff bureaucratic structure, attacked the empire from all sides bit by bit.

"
After the collapse of Rome, the feudal model introduced the concept of livestock ownership and taxation. Instead of being directly owned, peasants farmed land that they could retain as long as they paid off the local warlords. This model broke down due to the continual subdivision of productive land, and was destroyed during the Enclosure movement, when land was consolidated, and hundreds of thousands of peasants were kicked off their ancestral lands, because new farming techniques made larger farms more productive with fewer people.
"

It was the greater freedom granted to peasants that rendered feudalism more effective. Unlike slaves, to a certain proportion, peasants were able to improve their own life with harder work and outsmarting competitors. For the first time in history not only for slave owners but also for those immediately connected to the production the feedback of effective work became discernible.

This more immediate feedback stimulated the productivity, the invention of new technologies, and the division of labor, that finally brought down traditional farming.

"
The increased productivity of the late Middle Ages created the excess food required for the expansion of towns and cities, which in turn gave rise to the modern Democratic model of human ownership. As displaced peasants flooded into the cities, a huge stock of cheap human capital became available to the rising industrialists - and the ruling class of human farmers quickly realized that they could make more money by letting their livestock choose their own occupations.
"

Again freedom was increased.

"
Under the Democratic model, direct slave ownership has been replaced by the Mafia model. The Mafia rarely owns businesses directly, but rather sends thugs around once a month to steal from the business "owners." You are now allowed to choose your own occupation, which raises your productivity - and thus the taxes you can pay to your masters.
"

I agree it seems mafia-like when taxes are collected and squandered by an ever growing number of parasites, but it is in fact a toll that has to be paid to maintain a social fauceir's persistence. It is a completely different question and one that social evolution will solve that those parasites have to be reduced. Evolution offers two solutions for that.

  1. Parasites are killed by a defense system (In biological organisms such as humans this is the immune system that kills bacterial parasites, for instance.)
  2. Parasites become enslaved, properly controlled, themselves and part of the greater fauceirs functioning. (In biological organisms, bacteria that inhabit the gut are a prominent example.)
"
Your few freedoms are preserved because they are profitable to your owners. The great challenge of the Democratic model is that increases in wealth and freedom threaten the farmers. The ruling classes initially profit from a relatively free market in capital and labor, but as their livestock become more used to their freedoms and growing wealth, they begin to question why they need rulers at all. Ah well. Nobody ever said that human farming was easy.
"

Still, enslavement has to be insured. On one hand, improved enslavement allows to remove parasites, on the other hand, enforced enslavement kills the creative power of social members. Modern politics of all countries are characterized by a stochastic, trial-and-error, search for the best balance.

Social Control Fauceirs

Next the video illustrates the methods of enslavement that evolved over centuries.

"
Keeping the tax livestock securely in the compounds of the ruling classes is a three phase process. The first is to indoctrinate the young through government "education." As the wealth of democratic countries grew, government schools were universally inflicted in order to control the thoughts and souls of the livestock.
"

Education is ensuring social inheritance. Like biological inheritance, it is necessary for a society's existence. As with biological inheritance, evolutionary innovations are created by introducing novelty into the genetic material, education can be improved too, and it should be improved.

"
The second is to turn citizens against each other through the creation of dependent livestock.
"

As a rule of evolution, every fauceir can enslave other fauceirs only by use of already enslaved fauceirs. The most important and most versatile enslaved fauceir of human societies are humans, so enslavement is mediated by humans mostly. But, we just witness growing capabilities of electronic devices to enslave, such as drones or computer software, so we will probably see in the near future is that such devices will increasingly take over.

This upcoming technological enslavement has as ever positive and negative implications.

  • It will reduce parasitism of those humans that are exploited to enslave others. (Thus a drone will not rape your daughter and a computer software that regularly draws money from your account will not ask for a bribe.)
  • It will increase, on the other hand, abuse as orders to such devices cannot be double checked by human consciousness.
"
It is very difficult to rule human beings directly through force -- and where it can be achieved, it remains cripplingly underproductive, as can be seen in North Korea. Human beings do not breed well or produce efficiently in direct captivity. If human beings believe that they are free, then they will produce much more for their farmers. The best way to maintain this illusion of freedom is to put some of the livestock on the payroll of the farmer. Those cows that become dependent on the existing hierarchy will then attack any other cows who point out the violence, hypocrisy and immorality of human ownership.
"

As shown in the previous section, the two goals of human social evolution are (1) to increase the freedom of human individuals to develop creativity and (2) prevent them from becoming cheaters. The first is setting them free while the second requires even more enslavement. Thus human social evolution has to fine tune which of the sub-fauceir in human behavior have to be suppressed and which have to be developed. The fauceir rule of evolution states that by evolutionary progress imprecision is decreased.

"
Freedom is slavery, and slavery is freedom.
"

This is nothing but a catch phrase. Sorry, but it says nothing.

"
If you can get the cows to attack each other whenever anybody brings up the reality of their situation, then you don't have to spend nearly as much controlling them directly. Those cows who become dependent upon the stolen largess of the farmer will violently oppose any questioning of the virtue of human ownership -- and the intellectual and artistic classes, always and forever dependent upon the farmers -- will say, to anyone who demands freedom from ownership: "You will harm your fellow cows." The livestock are kept enclosed by shifting the moral responsibility for the destructiveness of a violent system to those who demand real freedom.
"

Well, there are so many ways of how to accomplish enslavement. What really matter is not the enslavement itself but all the imprecision involved. Imprecision encourages cheaters and cheaters may evolve into tangible parasites.

"
The third phase is to invent continual external threats, so that the frightened livestock cling to the "protection" of the farmers.
"

I would not say that these three points are the whole repertoire. They in fact are important sub-fauceirs that evolved for the purpose of human enslavement. Others coming soon.

Outlook

Finally, the video provides some projections about future trend in development.

"
This system of human farming is now nearing its end.
"

It doesn't require some rocket scientist to predict that. As every fauceir has a limited life span, even our universe, the end is inevitable. The question is when.

"
The terrible tragedy of the modern American system has occurred not in spite of, but because of past economic freedoms. The massive increases in American wealth throughout the 19th century resulted from economic freedom -- and it was this very increase in wealth that fed the size and power of the state.
"

These are actually two assertions:

  1. Economic freedom creates wealth - I could not agree more.
  2. Wealth increases the power of the state – I disagree, see North Korea. There is no much waelth but an almost infinite state power. And see Hong Kong. There is wealth, but governmental power has been kept small. The problem is that wealth everywhere in the world attracts cheaters and parasites. As the government is the sole executioner of power, those who intend to cheat flock to governmental institutions.
"
Whenever the livestock become exponentially more productive, you get a corresponding increase in the number of farmers and their dependents. The growth of the state is always proportional to the preceding economic freedoms.
"

This is because we did not yet find an effective method to prevent cheaters or psychopaths to become state employees. And of course, the state machinery, currently full of such psychopaths, will keep us from introducing such a methods. It suppresses the freedom of speech, manipulates democratic elections, and euphemizes corruption as lobbying, wherever that is possible in the world.

"
Economic freedoms create wealth, and the wealth attracts more thieves and political parasites, whose greed then destroys the economic freedoms.
"

As you see we mostly agree.

"
In other words, freedom metastasizes the cancer of the state. The government that starts off the smallest will always end up the largest. This is why there can be no viable and sustainable alternative to a truly free and peaceful society.
"

Well, a 'truly free and peaceful society' is just an other word. Here you start to become irrational. Sorry about that.

"
A society without political rulers, without human ownership, without the violence of taxation and statism...
"

At this point, the video raises the old tale a paradise, only. I'm disappointed about this relapse into old ideologies. There is no paradise at the end of the tunnel. On the contrary, tensions and contradictions among societies will increase.

But, that may be the good news, though ever more enslaved and deprived of genuine capabilities, humans will feel more free and secure, at least most of them.

"
To be truly free is both very easy, and very hard. We avoid the horror of our enslavement because it is painful to see it directly. We dance around the violence of our dying system because we fear the attacks of our fellow livestock. But we can only be kept in the cages we refuse to see. Wake up...
"

Summary

As the video staggeringly illustrates the way our thinking depends on ideology, it falls short with in depth explanations of social phenomena. Therefore it may serve as an introduction into fauceir thinking, but by far it does not cover it. If this video provides more questions than answers to you, proceed studying fauceir theory.
